ZEIC's Building to Electrification Coalition has released its scorecard tracking trends and headwinds and tailwinds related to the electrification of buildings in British Columbia.
The annual scorecard evaluates progress to achieving the actions outlined in the Building Electrification Roadmap (BERM). Released in 2021, BERM sets out roles, responsibilities, and actions for all levels of government, industry, and other actors to achieve a market transformation and the electrification of buildings throughout British Columbia.

2024 proved to be a tenacious year for building electrification in BC. While pro-electrification champions continued their great work on building decarbonization, detractors were also out in full force. For better or for worse, building electrification was a fiery topic.
